
Air Force Finishes 11th at PING Cougar Classic

PROVO, Utah - Backed by an even par 288 on the final 18 holes, the Air Force golf team closed out the regular season this afternoon (April 25) at the PING Cougar Classic in Provo, Utah. The Falcons, who recorded the second-lowest round of the day on Saturday, finished 11th in the overall standings with a three-round score of 896 (306-302-288, 32 over).
Freshman Sutton Farmer, who fired a season-low 70 during the final round to move from 41st to 25th in the individual standings, concluded the tournament with a 54-hole, three-over par total of 219 (73-76-70).
Junior Michael Fan and senior Blake Edwards both carded a 71 on the final 18, while sophomore Brenden Bone and freshman Todd Millard recorded scores of 76 and 77, respectively. For the weekend, Fan finished in a tie for 30th with a five-over par score of 221 (76-74-71), while Bone and Millard tied for 54th with matching 15-over totals of 231 (77-78-76 for Bone, 80-74-77 for Millard). Edwards rounded out the Falcons' lineup with a 58th-place total of 234 (80-83-71, 18 over).
Colorado State won the team title with an 11-under par score of 853, while BYU's Jordan Rodgers won the individual title following a playoff with Utah State's Seokwon Joen (five-under, 211).
The Falcons return to action next Friday (May 1), when they travel to Tucson, Ariz., for the 2015 Mountain West Golf Championships at Tucson National.
