Falcons Wrap up First Day of Cowboy Classic

CHANDLER, Ariz. - The Air Force golf team wrapped up the first day of competition at the 13th-annual Cowboy Classic in Chandler, Ariz., this evening (April 6), with a two-round total of 588 (12 over par). Recording scores of 295 and 293 during the first two rounds, the Falcons are currently listed 17th in the team standings.
Tying for 56th with a one-over par score of 145 (72-73), junior Michael Fan is the Falcons' individual leader after the first 36 holes. Freshmen Sutton Farmer and Todd Millard are tied for 60th with matching two-over scores of 146 (71-75 for Farmer, 75-71 for Millard), while sophomore Brenden Bone is tied for 84th with a score of 151 (77-74, seven over). Senior Blake Edwards rounded out the Falcons' first-day lineup with a 97th-place score of 157 (80-77, 13 over).
Freshman Dane Hankamer, competing as an individual, is tied for 98th with a 161 (82-77, 15 over).
UC Davis currently leads the team standings with a two-day tally of 556 (20-under par), while the Aggies' Mike Brockington is tied with Colorado's David Oraee for the individual lead at eight under (136).
The Falcons return to Whirlwind Golf Club tomorrow (April 7) to wrap up the 2015 Cowboy Classic. Play is scheduled to get underway at 7:30 a.m., on the club's Cattail Course.
