Air Force Concludes Tournament Play at Cowboy Classic

CHANDLER, Ariz. - The Air Force golf team concluded play at the Cowboy Classic this afternoon (April 7) at the Whirlwind Golf Club in Chandler, Ariz. Shooting 302 on the final day of action, the Falcons finished 17th in the team standings with a three-round score of 890 (295, 293, 302, 26 over).
Junior Michael Fan and freshman Todd Millard paced the team during the final 18 holes, as the pair both carded two-over par scores of 74.
Fan recorded the squad's best tournament finish, as he tied for 61st with a score of 219 (72-73-74, three over), while Millard added a 66th-place total of 220 (75-71-74, four over). Freshman Sutton Farmer tied for 71st with a three-day score of 222 (75-73-76, six over), while sophomore Brenden Bone and senior Blake Edwards rounded out the Falcons' lineup, finishing 87th (77-74-78=229, 13 over) and 97th (80-77-79=238, 22 over), respectively.
Competing as an individual, freshman Dane Hankamer recorded a 79 on the final day to finish tied for 98th with a total of 238 (82-77-79, 22 over).
McNeese State won the team title with a 26-under par tally of 838, while Weber State's Devon Purser claimed individual honors after winning a playoff against Idaho's Jared du Troit and McNeese State's Robert MacIntyre on the 18th hole. All three recorded a nine-under par total of 207.
Air Force is off from competition until Friday, April 24, when it travels to Provo, Utah, for the PING Cougar Classic.
