Air Force Finishes 10th at Ram Masters Invitational

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Junior Sunwoo Choi picked up a top-20 finish this afternoon (Sept. 22), as the Air Force golf team wrapped up competition at the Ram Masters Invitational in Fort Collins. Choi tied for 19th with an eight-over par 218, while the Falcons shot their lowest round of the tournament (295) to finish 10th with a three-round score of 894 (303-296-295, 54 over).
Choi, who entered the third round tied for 27th, fired a season-low 71 (one-over par) on the final 18 to move into a tie for 19th in the 88-competitor event. The junior carded a combined score of 218 (eight over) for the tournament after recording individual rounds of 74, 73 and 71.
Classmate Brenden Bone carded a three-over par score of 73 in the final round to finish the tournament tied for 29th with a 10-over total of 220 (78-69-73). Freshman Bryant Falconello shot a 74 on the last 18 to tie for 52nd with a three-round score of 226 (74-78-74, 16-over), while senior Michael Fan carded a 77 on Tuesday to tie for 70th with a combined score of 230 (77-76-77, 20-over). Freshman Tate Tatom rounded out the Falcons' lineup with an 82 on the final day, finishing in a tie for 84th with a three-round score of 244 (84-78-82, 34-over).
Sophomore Kyle Fuller, tying for 62nd as an individual competitor, shot a 74 on the final day to finish 18-over with a three-round total of 228 (74-80-74).
Tournament host Colorado State captured the team title with a one-under par total of 839, while Kansas' Ben Walle earned medalist honors with a four-under par score of 206.
Air Force continues play along the Front Range next week, when it travels to Boulder for the annual Mark Simpson Invitational. The two-day tournament begins on Monday, Sept. 28, at the Boulder Country Club.
