LAST SEASON
(Oct. 24, 2015) Air Force scored 42 unanswered points to defeat Fresno State, 42-14, in Falcon Stadium. The Bulldogs opened the scoring with a 64 yard run by Marteze Waller and a 60 yard run by Dustin Garrison to take a 14-0 lead in the first quarter. The Falcons got going with three consecutive touchdown runs by Karson Roberts to take a 21-14 halftime lead. Roberts added a fourth touchdown run to open the second half and caught a 20 yard touchdown pass from Jalen Robinette for his fifth touchdown of the day. Jacobi Owens added the final score on a 15 yard touchdown run to make up the final margin. The Falcons rolled up a season highs of 458 rushing yards and 586 total yards while holding Fresno State to 311 total yards. Roberts rushed for 92 yards and hit five of 10 passes for 108 yards. Bryan Driskell rushed for a career-high 144 yards and Owens added 137 yards rushing. Claude Alexander III led the defense with six tackles while Alex Hansen chipped in with four tackles, a sack and three tackles for loss.
THE LAST TIME IN FRESNO
(Nov. 24, 2012) Fresno State defeated Air Force, 48-15, in the final regular season game for each school. The Bulldogs rolled up 603 total yards, including 479 passing. Quarterback Derek Carr hit 28-of-32 passes for 452 yards and four touchdowns while Robbie Rouse rushed for 106 yards on 25 carries to lead Fresno State. Air Force had 317 total yards, including 254 rushing. Cody Getz led the Falcons with 87 yards on 19 carries while Jon Lee chipped in with 52 yards. The defense was led by Chris Miller, who had a career-high 10 tackles. James Chambers added nine and Austin Niklas seven. Fresno State raced out to a 21-0 first-quarter lead on two Carr touchdown passes and a one-yard pass from Rouse. Air Force answered early in the second when Connor Dietz hit Ty MacArthur on a 10-yard touchdown pass. Fresno State added 10 more points to take a 31-7 halftime lead. The Bulldogs pushed the lead to 48-7 early in the fourth before Anthony LaCoste scored a touchdown and added a two-point conversion run to make up the final margin.
LAST WEEK
Hawaii defeated Air Force, 34-27, in double overtime in Falcon Stadium. The victory snapped Air Force's 15-game home winning streak. The Rainbow Warriors scored late in the second quarter to take a 10-7 halftime lead before a pair of Luke Strebel field goals to put the Falcon in front 13-10 in the third quarter. Hawaii tied it with a field goal and the teams exchanged fourth-quarter touchdowns. Strebel missed a field goal as time expired in regulation to force overtime. Both teams scored touchdowns in the first overtime. Hawaii scored on its first play in double overtime and held the Falcons on downs to win it. Hawaii had 387 total yards and was led by Dru Brown, who hit 21 of 37 passes for 312 yards and three touchdowns. Air Force had 409 total yards on 97 plays, including 87 rushes for 389 yards. Shayne Davern led the way with 24 carries for 98 yards and a touchdown. Tim McVey added 78 yards and a score on 11 carries while Nate Romine had 74 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries.
