Falcons win the rifle President's Cup Trophy

U.S. Air Force Academy, Colo. - No. 5 Air Force rifle was host to the President's Cup Trophy match today (Nov. 5) at the Falcon Rifle Range. With a final score of 4698, the Falcons won the President's Cup trophy for the third straight year (four overall).
Top Individuals: Senior Ryan Jacobs and sophomore Spencer Cap were the Falcons' top shooters in both guns. Competing in smallbore first, Jacobs had the highest score overall with 584/600 points. Cap had the second highest with 583 points, followed by Army's Nathan Brewer who tied with Cap (the tie was broken by the number of center shots).
Next, in air rifle, Cap and Jacobs reversed order as Cap was the top shooter with a 598/600. Jacobs had a 595 and AFA's freshman Logan Ogden had a 593. Brewer finished with a 592.
Team Smallbore: The Black Knights shot 2302, while Navy scored 2272. The Coast Guard finished with a season-high 2202. Air Force won with 2322.
Team Air Rifle: The Falcons scored a season-high 2376 in the gun. Army beat Navy and the Coast Guard, 2344-2335-2272, respectively.
Aggregate scores: In NCAA scoring, Air Force won the quadrangular match with an aggregate 4698, Army followed with 4646, Navy 4607 and the Coast Guard 4474. Cap concluded the match with 1181, Jacobs finished with 1179 points, followed by Brewer with 1175.
