Black and Blue Wrestle-Offs

Air Force wrestling is slated to host the annual Black and Blue Intrasquad Wrestle-Offs, Wednesday, Nov. 9, at 7:30 p.m., in Clune Arena, USAFA. The Falcons will square off in 10 bouts that will help decide the starting wrestlers for the season.
Cowboy Open title winners Alex Lopouchanski, Randy Meneweather, Parker Hines and Anthony McLaughlin are all slated for bouts on the evening.
Lopouchanski (4-0), Hines (3-0) and McLaughlin (3-0) went undefeated on the event for championship finishes in the elite division, while Meneweather (5-0) went undefeated in the amateur division.
Jerry McGinty took a runner-up finish with a medical forfeit while Drew Romero and Dane Robbins registered third place finishes. Alec Opsal registered three falls and a technical fall on his 4-1 route to a second-place finish in the amateur division.
Tyler Wiederholt, Matt Wagner and Kerry Powers earned third place finishes while Bridger Barker checked in at fourth in the amateur division.
Air Force wrestling has teamed up with Urban Peak Colorado Springs Emergency Shelter to raise non-perishable food items and used back packs at the Black and Blue dual. All proceeds will be donated to the Urban Peak.

Following the wrestle-offs, a contingency of wrestlers will head to Greeley, Colo., to compete in the Northern Colorado Open, hosted by the University of Northern Colorado, Sun., Nov. 13. Matches start at 9:00 a.m. MT and will conclude in the evening.
