Col. Al Hunt, USAF (Retired) will lead the upcoming Military Appreciation Partnership (MAP) 2016 Coaches Tour to entertain and inspire our troops serving at American Military Bases overseas.
Featured on the tour will be Air Force head coach Troy Calhoun, Eastern Michigan's Chris Creighton, San Francisco 49ers head coach Chip Kelly and former Notre Dame starting quarterback Pat Steenberge.
MAP will be sharing pictures, videos, and updates on social media for fans, friends, and family to track tour progress and events. Follow the tour on Twitter (@map_events), Facebook (facebook.com/MapEvents), and Instagram (@MAP_Entertainment).
The MAP team departed from Dobbins Air Reserve Base in Marietta, GA, last weekend and in the course of a week will visit as many as 15,000 troops stationed in Germany, Afghanistan, Djibouti and Italy. The troops will be treated to autographs, photo sessions and Q&A sessions. The coaches will also visit military hospitals and on some bases, organize flag football games.
The coach's personal appearances will be moderated by former Congressman Jim Marshall, a U.S. Army veteran in the Ranger Hall of Fame, and former Assistant Secretary of the Air Force, the Honorable Bill Anderson.
MAP is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt public charity dedicated to taking the Best of America to those who defend it. This year's tour builds on MAP overseas college football coaches tours in 2008, 2009, and 2010. In 2011, MAPs tours included Indianapolis 500 race car drivers and two Legends of Aerospace tours, with Gene Cernan, Jim Lovell, and the late Neil Armstrong.
