Air Force opens spring football practice today and fans can get an early look at next season, as all practice are open to the public. Fans can also see what awaits them off the field next season, as Air Force’s new video board at Falcon Stadium is in the process of being installed.
The new video board is the first of several renovations to the stadium that are being planned as part of a fundraising campaign. The board is 600 percent larger than the old one and features over 2,500 square feet of HD video display. The dimensions are 31-2 by 82-8 making it the largest video board in the Mountain West and among the service academies. The board also includes a state-of-the-art new sound system and HD ribbons displays for the north and south end zones and a new marquee on Stadium Blvd.
Falcon Stadium is an important asset to the Academy, not only for athletics. The stadium serves as the premier venue for marquee events such as graduation.
