Falcons Tie for 14th at Loyola Intercollegiate

GOODYEAR, Ariz. – The Air Force golf team tied for 14th at the Loyola Intercollegiate, which wrapped up competition this afternoon (March 1) at the Palm Valley Golf Club in Goodyear, Arizona. The Falcons shot a 295 on the final 18 to tie with host Loyola-Maryland and finish the three-round tournament with a 20-over total of 884 (288-301-295).
Tying for 41st with a three-over par total of 219 (67-78-74), senior Michael Fan led the scoring members of the Air Force squad. Junior Brenden Bone carded the team's lowest round of the day (73) to finish tied for 58th with a three-day total of 221 (73-75-73, five-over). Freshman Turner Howe and junior Sunwoo Choi both matched their lowest rounds of the tournament (74, two-over) to finish tied for 68th (74-75-74=223, seven-over) and 75th (74-77-74=225, nine-over), respectively. Freshman Tate Tatom rounded out the Falcons' five-man squad, as he tied for 77th with a 10-over par score of 226 (76-74-76).
Freshman Bryant Falconello, competing as an individual, registered the Falcons' highest overall finish of the tournament, as he tied for 33rd with a one-over par total of 217 (74-70-73). Junior Troy Berglund finished 94th with a three-day total of 231 (72-83-75, 15-over), while sophomore Todd Millard tied for 101st with a score of 245 (83-78-84, 29-over).
Arkansas State won the 17-team tournament with a three-round total of 833 (31-under), while the Red Wolves' Tanner Napier took home individual honors with an 18-under score of 198.
Air Force returns to action next week (March 7-8), when it travels to Primm, Nev., for the annual Jackrabbit Invitational. The tournament will be held on the Desert Course at the Primm Valley Golf Club.
