Air Force Finishes 10th at Barona Collegiate Cup

LAKESIDE, Calif. – The Air Force golf team finished 10th at the Barona Collegiate Cup, which wrapped up this afternoon (March 22) in Lakeside, California. The Falcons finished the three-round tournament at the Barona Creek Golf Club with a combined score of 926 (295-318-313, 62-over).
Junior Sunwoo Choi paced the Falcons' five-man roster, as he tied for 35th with an 11-over total of 227 (72-78-77). Recording a three-round score of 230 (73-78-79, 14-over), senior Michael Fan completed the tournament in a tie for 43rd. Freshmen Turner Howe and Bryant Falconello finished tied for 62nd (76-79-80=235, 19-over) and 67th (77-83-77=237, 21-over), respectively, while classmate Tate Tatom placed 72nd with a 24-over total of 241 (74-87-80).
Sophomore Dane Hankamer led a trio of Falcons who were competing as individuals this week. Recording Air Force's lowest round of the day (74), Hankamer finished tied for 41st with 13-over par total of 229 (75-80-74). Juniors Troy Berglund and Brenden Bone rounded out the lineup, as Berglund tied for 49th with a 232 (76-77-79, 16-over) and Bone finished 71st with a 240 (78-80-82, 25-over).
San Diego State finished 26 under par (838) to win its own tournament, while Minnesota's Runar Arnorsson claimed the individual title with a three-round total of 207 (nine-under).
The Falcons return to action on April 4-5, when they travel to Scottsdale, Ariz., for the Cowboy Classic.
