Falcons tie for Third at Jackrabbit Invitational

PRIMM, Nev. – Backed by a top-10 finish from junior Sunwoo Choi, the Air Force golf team tied for third at the Jackrabbit Invitational, which concluded this afternoon (March 8) at the Primm Valley Golf Club in Nevada. The Falcons recorded a three-round score of 876 (289-297-290) to finish 12-over par and tied for third with Hawaii.
Choi and freshman Tate Tatom, who was competing as an individual this week, tied for sixth in the full 58-golfer field with matching one-over par totals of 217. Choi carded a 68-76-73 over two days on the Desert Course for his second top-10 finish of the season, while Tatom capped off a 72-76 opening with the lowest round of his career (69) and his first collegiate top-10 finish.
Freshman Turner Howe shot a career-low 72 in the final round to tie for 18th with a four-over par score of 220 (73-75-72). Classmate Bryant Falconello (73-73-76) and senior Michael Fan (75-73-74) tied for 21st with matching six-over par scores of 222, while junior Brenden Bone finished one stroke back (75-77-71=223) and tied for 26th.
South Dakota State won its own tournament with a three-round score of 867 (three-over), while Creighton's Kade Brown was the individual champion with a seven-under par total of 209.
The Falcons return to action on Monday, March 21, when they travel to Lakeside, Calif., for the two-day Barona Collegiate Cup, which will be held at the Barona Creek Golf Club.
