Falcons Finish 12th at El Macero Classic

EL MACERO, Calif. – The Air Force golf team concluded the regular season with a 12th-place finish at the El Macero Classic on Sunday, April 17. The Falcons, who posted an 18-over par 306 during the final round, concluded the three-day tournament with a score of 923 (315-302-306, 59 over) to place 12th in the team standings.
Junior Brenden Bone shot a three-over par 75 during the final 18 holes to finish the three-day tournament in a tie for 20th (76-73-75=224, eight over). Classmate Sunwoo Choi and freshman Bryant Falconello both moved out five spots in during the final round to finish in a tie for 67th. Both Falcons posted their best rounds of the tournament (76) to finish with matching 18-over scores of 234 (80-78-76 for Choi, 79-79-76 for Falconello). Senior Michael Fan finished one stroke back (235), shooting a 79 on the final 18 to place 77th (81-75-79, 19 over), while sophomore Dane Hankamer tied for 81st with a three-day total of 237 (80-76-81, 21 over).
Freshman Tate Tatom, competing as an individual, tied for 42nd in the final standings after finishing the tournament with a 13-over par total of 229 (79-73-77).
Texas Tech won the team title with a 12-over par total of 876. Oregon State's Kevin Murphy and TCU's Ryan Books tied for the individual lead with matching even-par totals of 216, while Books claimed medalist honors on the first playoff hole.
The Falcons return to action on April 22, when they head to Tucson, Ariz., for the 2016 Mountain West Championships at the OMNI National.
