Air Force Falls 5-1 Sunday at Fresno State

Air Force baseball dropped a 5-1 contest at Fresno State Sunday afternoon at Beiden Field in Fresno, Calif. The Falcons dropped to 13-8, 4-4 MW.
A three-run fifth inning by the Bulldogs broke up a 1-1 tie.
Edgar Gonzalez (2-0) held the Falcons to one run in 5.2 innings pitched for the win. Rickey Ramirez followed with 3.1 innings of scoreless relief for the save.
Jacob DeVries (3-3) worked 4.2 innings in the start for the Falcons. DeVries struck out three and allowed just one earned run.
The Falcons had seven hits by seven different players on the day. Junior first baseman Russell Williams scored Air Force's lone run in the second inning.
Nick Biancalana, Austin McDaniel and Matt Hargreaves pitched in relief for the Falcons. Biancalana and Hargreaves had scoreless outings.
Fresno State plated a run in the first to take an early lead. After AFA tied it in the second, the Bulldogs jumped ahead with the three-run fifth. Fresno State added a run in the seventh. The Bulldogs had eight hits. Leftfielder Jake Stone had two hits and an RBI.
Air Force returns to action Tuesday, April 5, at Northern Colorado. First pitch is 3 pm.
