U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. -- A trip to the Mountain West Conference championship last season and an undefeated home record since 2014 has Falcon fans excited about the upcoming season and it's showing up at the ticket office.
Single-game tickets are available and on pace to surpass 2015 sales. Season-ticket sales have already exceeded last season's revenue by $30,000, including over 1,100 new season tickets.
"We have completely redesigned our approach to ticket sales over the last year and it has had a lasting impression on our fans," said Scott Sterling, assistant athletic director for ticket sales and marketing. "The entire focus has been a commitment to serving our fans year-round. To not just call and sell a ticket, but to truly get to know our fans, find the best options individually, and to thank them for their support every step of the way. The increase of ticket sales is a testament to the loyalty of Falcon fans and the commitment from the ticket sales staff to customer service and fan engagement."
For Air Force, it was a welcomed change as season-ticket sales have increased for the first time since 2011 due in large part to the buy-in from the ticket sales team, who came in to a newly designed training program and sales process.
"We are excited to break a five-year trend of falling ticket sales", said director of athletics Jim Knowlton. "Our athletic department team worked alongside the fan engagement committee to come up with some creative ways to get the community excited about the upgrades we're making to the overall fan experience. I think fans are excited about the season and watching our football team compete. I can't wait for the season to start!"
"Going into this year we knew our entire focus had to be on the individual fans, not as a transaction, but as part of the family," Sterling said. "We have a lot of momentum with this football team and a tremendous game-day experience to match. The addition of a brand-new video board will certainly add to that experience. Our job now is to ensure our entire community is at Falcon Stadium to show support."
Season and individual game tickets are currently on sale online or by calling the ticket office at 719-472-1895. The home schedule includes the service game against Navy and rival Colorado State with season-tickets starting at just $81. A special offer is available for the Georgia State (Sept. 10) and Hawai'i (Oct. 22) games, that includes four tickets for just $40.
