The Series…

St. Mary's won the last matchup, 3-1, in Moraga, Calif., in 2013. Both Falcon wins over the Gaels were shut outs. In 1999, Air Force beat St. Mary's, 6-0, at Cadet Soccer Stadium. In 2002 the Falcons topped the Gaels, 4-0, in the John Bydren Classic, in Denver, Colo. Air Force has not won while playing at St. Mary's.
Sunday's match up with San Francisco marks the 13th meeting between the Falcons and the Dons. Air Force trails San Francisco in the all-time series, 3-6-3. The teams have met twice in NCAA tournament action; the Dons topped the Falcons, 3-2, in 1965, and 2-1, in 1977. All three of the Falcons' wins were in San Francisco, Calif. All three ties were finalized at 1-1. Both teams have 10 all-time goals when playing against each other in Negoesco Stadium.
Last Week at Home…

Senior team captain Cameron Duley logged Air Force's first successful penalty kick of the season. Senior goalkeeper Jake Schenk went perfect between the pipes earning his second shutout in as many tries. Schenk was named the WAC's Defensive Player of the Week, Sept. 12. The last time the Falcons put up six goals was against in the 6-1 win over Buffalo in 2011.
In the matchup with UC Riverside it was AJ Esparza's goal from Austin Dewing's assist that lifted the Falcons to an overtime victory against the Highlanders. Air Force extended their home record to 7-1 dating back to last season.
Air Force Flying High…
Following the Falcons' high scoring weekend, Air Force has landed the seventh position in the NSCAA NCAA Division I Men's Western region top 10 rankings for the first time this season.
