Falcons in 10th place after first day of CU Invite

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. - The Air Force golf team is in 10th place after the first day of the Mark Simpson Invitational, hosted by the University of Colorado, Monday, Sept. 26. The Falcons shot a two-round total of even-par 576 at the par 72, Colorado National Golf Club in Erie, Colo. Air Force shot a three-over 291 in the first round and a three-under 285 in the second round.
Colorado, who has won or shared the tournament title each of the last three years, leads the 19-team tournament with an 18-under par 558. Utah is in second with a 563 while Campbell, Houston Baptist and Wyoming are all tied for third at 565.
Falcon senior Sunwoo Choi is in second place among all individuals with a two-round total of 137 (-7). Choi is one stroke behind the tournament leader, CU's Morten Toft Hansen.
Air Force senior Brenden Bone shot a two-round total of 146 followed by freshman Joshua Wu and sophomore Tate Tatom who each shot 147 while Todd Millard shot a two-round total of 151. Air Force freshman Joseph Crisostomo, competing as an individual, shot a two-round total of 144 (even par) to rank 37th among all individuals.
The final round of the seventh annual Mark Simpson Invitational gets underway at 7:55 a.m. MT on Tuesday, Sept. 27, at the Colorado National Golf Club in Erie, Colo.
