
Falcons beat Seattle and UNC

The Air Force men's and women's swimming and diving teams earned victories at the Academy's Cadet Natatorium, Jan. 13. The men's team defeated Seattle (121.00-74.00) while the women's team defeated Seattle (130.00-89.00) and Northern Colorado (131.00-90.00). The men's team improved to 7-0 overall this season while the women improved to 6-4.
The women's team got off to a great start by winning the first event of the evening, the 400 medley relay. The team of Autumn Wolfgramm, Shayle Finnesand, Ester Min and Jinan Andrews won with a time of 3:55.17. In the next event, senior Genevieve Miller won the 1000 free in a time of 10:30.96. The two-time All-American and six-time Mountain West Conference champion was undefeated in dual meets in her entire career in the 1000 free. The Falcons took two of the top three spots in the 200 free as Andrews won (1;56.66) and Gaby Miller was third (1:59.24).
Air Force took three of the top four spots in the 50 free as Finnesand was second (24.51), Tianna Jorgenson was third (24.52) and Brianna Mount was fourth (24.70). In the 200 IM, Miller was second (2:12.68) while Emma Strom was third (2:13.21) and Jayden Glover was fourth (2:13.40). Freshman Lydia Knutson won the 100 free (52.62) while Jorgenson was second (53.57). Miller won her second event of the evening as she took the 500 free with a time of 5:11.31.
The Falcons capped off the night the same way it started, by winning a relay. The team of Knutson, Jorgenson, Mount and Andrews won the 200 free relay with a time of 1:36.95.
Air Force will host its final men's and women's meet of the season on Saturday, Jan. 14, at 11 a.m. at the Cadet Natatorium. The men will again face Seattle and the women will again battle Seattle and Northern Colorado. To watch the live stream, click here.
