Falcons place ninth at Wyoming Cowboy Classic

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. -- The Air Force golf team placed ninth in the annual Wyoming Cowboy Classic, April 10-11, at the Whirlwind Golf Club in Chandler, Ariz. Air Force shot a 54-hole, two-day total of 874 in the 18-team tournament. Air Force shot two rounds of 291, tying as the seventh best rounds of the season while the 874 is the fourth best of the season.
UC Santa Barbara won the tournament with a team score of 843 (-21). Kansas was second (-10), Long Beach State was third (-9) while Sacramento State was fourth (-4) and UC Davis was fifth (-2). Among Mountain West teams, Air Force placed eight strokes behind Colorado State, four strokes behind Wyoming and five strokes ahead of Utah State.
Senior Brenden Bone was the top Falcon, placing sixth overall with a three-round total of 210 (-6). Senior Sunwoo Choi tied for 17th with a one-under 215. Bone's 210 is his second best of the season while Choi's 215 is his third best.
The Falcons conclude the season at the Mountain West Conference Championships, April 21-23, in Tucson, Ariz.
