Air Force downs Nebraska-Omaha

Air Force defeated Nebraska-Omaha, 7-0, Friday night in a non-conference men's tennis match at the Academy's Cadet Gymnasium Indoor Tennis Courts.
The Falcons swept the match for its second 7-0 decision of the season. Air Force took the doubles point behind wins at No. 1 and 2. Tadhg Collins and Max Olson won at No. 1 doubles, 6-2, while Lucas Fumagalli and Mack Galvin took a 6-4 win at No. 2. Isaac Perez and Luke Sanderson were leading 5-4 at No. 3 when the point was clinched.
Air Force won four of the six singles matches in straight sets. Galvin picked up the first win with a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 4 followed by Fumagalli winning 6-3, 6-3 at No. 3. Olson rebounded after dropping the second set to win a three-set match, 6-4, 4-6, 6-1 at No. 1 over 78th-ranked Razvan Grigorescu. The win is the first over a ranked opponent of Olson's career. Perez rebounded after losing the opening set to win two straight to record a 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 win at No. 2. Collins rounded out the sweep with a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 6.
The Falcons improved to 8-15 overall this season. Air Force closes out the regular season with its conference finale vs. New Mexico Saturday at 3 p.m. The match is part of a double-header vs. New Mexico with the women's teams playing at 10 a.m. The men's match is the program's PACK THE HOUSE game and features free food.
