Air Force athletics, along with the Cadet Wing, hosted Basic Cadet Training Field Day July 14 at the athletic fields, located south of the Cadet Field House. BCT Field Day is the culminating event of First Basic Cadet Training for the class of 2021.
Upper class cadets, with oversight by athletics and CW, manage the events. Basic cadet trainees tested their skill, stamina, and physical condition during Field Day. The day began with basic cadets marching on the fields at 6:30 a.m. in a traditional military formation to be greeted by Academy leaders. Air Force Vice Director of Athletics Col. Brian Hill addressed the trainees to open the event.
The trainees participated in athletic competitions such as distance run, tug-of-war, dodgeball, steeple chase, sprint and log relays. Field Day champions were announced during the closing ceremony.
