
Falcons beat Cal Lutheran, 15-8

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. - The Air Force water polo team earned its first victory of the season with a 15-8 win over California Lutheran in a non-conference game Friday, Sept. 15, in Thousand Oaks, Calif.
Air Force (1-4 overall) took a 4-2 lead in the first quarter, led by two goals from sophomore Mike Miller. The Falcons took control of the game in the second quarter by outscoring the Kingsmen, 6-0, as six different Falcons scored in the quarter.
With five goals in the third quarter, two by junior George Millard, the Falcons took a 15-4 lead. CLU rallied back with four goals in the fourth to make up the final margin.
Miller and senior Garrett Fisk each had three goals to pace the Falcons. Millard and senior Jack Empey each had two.
Freshman James Burke earned the victory in goal, making a career-high 10 saves.
Air Force returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 16, against No. 7 UC Santa Barbara, at noon PT.
