
Falcons place 15th at CSU Ram Masters

FORT COLLINS, Colo. - The Air Force golf team placed 15th in the annual CSU Ram Masters Invitational, Tuesday, Sept. 19, at the Fort Collins Country Club in Fort Collins, Colo. The Falcons shot a 54-hole team score of 884 (+44).
Colorado State won the 19-team tournament for the fourth straight year, setting a tournament record with a 17-under par 823. Missouri-Kansas City was second (842, +2) and Wyoming was third (847, +7).
Air Force was in ninth place after a first-round 289, but then shot 298 in round two and 297 in round three.
Junior Tate Tatom was the top Falcon, tying for 12th place overall with a one-over par, 211. After an opening round 72 (two-over), Tatom shot an even par 70 in round two. In the final round, he shot the Falcons' best round of the tournament with a one-under 69. Starting on the back, and after an early bogey, Tatom birdied the par-5 15th and the par-3 17th to get to one-under. He got to two-under with a birdie on the par-5 first hole. Bogeys on five and six were followed by a birdie on seven for his round of 69.
Junior Bryant Falconello shot a 224 (71-78-75) while sophomore Joseph Crisostomo came in at 226 (74-78-74).
Air Force returns to action at the Mark Simpson Invitational, hosted by the University of Colorado, Sept. 25-26, in Boulder, Colo.
