Las Vegas, Nev. — The Falcon women's tennis squad posted its second win of the weekend against Southern Utah, 6-1, Sunday afternoon in Las Vegas.
Air Force continued its dominance in doubles action posting three-straight wins for the second time this weekend.
"I was really pleased with how all three doubles teams got off to a fast start and never let their opponents back in the match," explained head coach Kim Gidley. "It was nice to see that all positions counted today and it was great to see our No. 3 team (Hatcliff/Laskey) step up to clinch the point."
The momentum continued into the singles portion of the event as the Falcons competed relentlessly from the first point to the last point in every match played. Five Falcons, from the first to the fifth position, posted straight set victories over their Thunderbird opponents.
"It is tough to win on the road," continued Gidley. "To dominate both opponents this early in the season was awesome. Not dropping a set at the top five positions against a talented team is tough to do. It was an energy filled weekend of tough tennis and the team competed hard to get the results that we wanted."
Air Force continues action on the road as they travel up the road to take on Northern Colorado on Sunday, Jan. 21. Action is slated for 10 a.m.
