Falcons Wrap up Second Round of Friday Night Fights

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. – The Air Force boxing team hosted its second round of Friday Night Fights this afternoon (Oct. 19) at the Academy. Junior Sean Chieves earned the team's Boxer of the Week award during the eight-bout card that included five different weight classes.

Chieves won the first of two 140-pound bouts at the Cadet Gym Boxing Room this afternoon, as he earned the bout's decision over sophomore William Winstead. Fellow sophomore Justin Couty earned the other victory in that weight division, as he defeated freshman Zach Philips in the final bout of the night.

The Falcons also competed in a pair of contests in the 156- and 185-pound weight classes. Juniors Levi Rate and William Ragland collected decisions at 156 pounds, as they defeated senior Josh Turner and freshman Francisco Garcia, respectively. Junior Cenada Clifton Smith won his 185-pound bout with classmate Nick Pingel, while senior Deon Dodd defeated sophomore Luke Kilianski in the other contest at the weight class.

Freshman Lawrence Barrett decisioned Don Piasecki in the day's opening bout at 125 pounds, while freshman Ayaz Mustafa rounded out the afternoon's event winners, as he earned a decision over classmate Justin Hontanosas in the 170-pound contest.

Air Force returns to action next Saturday (Oct. 27), when it travels to Detroit, Mich., to face service academy rivals Navy and Army West Point at the annual Chuck Davey Invitational.
