
Falcons head to WWPA Championships

No. 5 seed AF faces No. 4 seed Cal Baptist in the first game, Nov. 16
WWPA TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE: Air Force (8-16, 3-4 WWPA) is the No. 5 seed in the WWPA Tournament and will face fourth-seeded (and 14th-ranked) Cal Baptist, on Friday, at 11:15 am PT at the Clovis West Olympic Aquatics Center in Fresno, Calif. The winner advances to the WWPA semifinals on Saturday. The loser falls to the consolation bracket. The winner of the tournament receives an automatic berth to the NCAAs.

THE MATCH-UP: Air Force and Cal Baptist meet for the second time this season and the 35th time all-time. AF leads the series, 20-14. Earlier this season, CBU defeated Air Force, 10-7, on Nov. 3. The last time AF beat CBU was in last season's WWPA Championships, a 12-10 Falcon win.
THE FALCONS AND THE TOURNAMENT: Since winning the conference tournament in 2012, Air Force has won two games in the tournament each of the last five years. The Falcons placed third in 2015 and 2017 and fifth in 2013, 2014 and 2016. Last season, Air Force beat Concordia in the first game, fell to UC Davis in the second round and then beat Cal Baptist in the third place game.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS: Junior Luke Andres leads the Falcons with 52 goals and 78 points this season. He ranks fifth in the WWPA in goals scored. Junior Reagan Pittman leads the team with 39 assists and is second with 62 points and 25 steals. Junior Michael Miller leads the team with 65 sprint wins. Sophomore goalie James Burke is third in the conference in steals (40) and fourth in saves (172).
