
Pittman scores three in 11-8 win at CMS

Air Force improves to 8-15 overall
U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – A big fourth quarter led the Air Force water polo team to an 11-8 win over Claremont-Mudd-Scripps in a non-conference college water polo game, Sunday, Nov. 4, in Claremont, Calif.
After the Stags opened the scoring, Justin Harrison tied the game with an assist from Luke Andres at 2:11. Campbell Harris scored a goal late in the first for a 2-1 lead at the end of the first quarter. CMS tied the game, but Harris and Michael Miller scored for a 4-2 lead. The Stags scored two goals late in the second quarter as the game was tied at 4-4 at the half.
Reagan Pittman and Harrison made it 6-4 early in the third quarter. The Stags again answered with a goal late in the third, and another early in the fourth, to tie the game at 6-6. The Falcons scored the next three goals of the game. Edward Smet gave the Falcons a 7-6 lead at 6:49. Andres scored on the power play and Pittman scored even strength for a 9-6 advantage. After a Falcon turnover, the Stags scored, but Andres answered at 3:19. Stag Christian Thornton cut the Falcon lead to 10-8. After a save by James Burke with just over two minutes left, Pittman scored his third of the game for an 11-8 lead with 1:39 remaining.
Air Force (8-15 overall, 3-4 WWPA) travels Los Angeles, Calif., for the final regular-season game of the season on Saturday, Nov. 10, against Chapman University at 7 p.m. PT.
