M. Tennis Splits the Weekend with Sunday Win

ABILENE, Tex. - Air Force recorded its sixth win of the season with a 5-2 victory over Oral Roberts in non-conference action, Sunday afternoon in Abilene, Texas. Air Force notched wins in the top-two doubles positions, while four Falcons posted straight set wins in singles action.
Isaac Perez and Jamie Bautista led the Falcons off with a strong start in the No. 2 doubles position, beating Moreira and Guymon, 6-2. Tadhg Collins and Mack Galvin secured the match point with a win in the No. 1 doubles position, posting a 7-5 win over Phenec and Boykin.
In singles play, Perez posted the first win, beating Phenec, 6-4, 6-1, in the second position. Galvin followed up with a win in position three over Santamaria, 6-1, 6-3. Oral Roberts posted their first point in the fourth position, but Collins followed up with a 6-4, 6-4, win over Hjelm at No. 6 to rebuild the lead. Paul Hendrix tallied the Falcons' final point in the fifth position with a 6-3, 7-5, win over Leardini. Oral Roberts' Boykin notched an additional point in the No. 1 position to round out the action and finalize the score at 5-2 in favor of Air Force.
The Falcons return to action against the University of Denver, Feb. 10, in Denver. Matches are slated for a 2 p.m. start.
