
Air Force Downed Sunday at New Mexico

Air Force baseball (9-14, 3-6 MW) lost 7-4 at New Mexico (10-12-1, 4-5 MW) in a Mountain West road game Sunday afternoon at Santa Ana Star Field in Albuquerque, N.M. The Lobos broke up a tie ballgame with a run in the sixth to pull ahead.
Trailing 4-0 after the first inning, Air Force scrapped its way back into the game, scoring two runs in the third and two in the fifth to tie things up.
New Mexico went ahead with a run in the sixth and put up two more in the seventh.
Ryan Holloway (1-2) pitched 5.1 innings in the start for Air Force. Holloway struck out four. Jake Gilbert and Ethan Nichols pitched in relief.
Air Force had eight hits. Rob Dau had two hits, a double and two RBIs. Tyler Zabojnik and Drew Wiss also added doubles.
New Mexico had 12 hits. Justin Watari had three hits and an RBI. Cody Dye (2-3) pitched seven innings for the win. Nathaniel Garley picked up the save.
Air Force returns to action Thursday, hosting San Jose State in a three-game home series.
