USAF ACADEMY, Colo. -- The Air Force cross country team announced its seven-meet schedule for the upcoming 2018 season this morning (July 18). The Falcons, under the direction of fifth-year coach Ryan Cole, will compete in five regular-season races, as they prepare for the conference, regional and national championship meets.
Air Force opens the 2018 campaign in Cheyenne, Wyo., on Friday, Aug. 30, when it competes against its regional foes at the Wyoming Invitational. The Falcons then travel to the Greeno/Dirksen Invitational in Lincoln, Neb., on Saturday, Sept. 15, before making back-to-back trips to Madison, Wis., for the Nuttycombe Invitational (Friday, Sept. 28) and Pre-National Invitational (Saturday, Oct. 13).
The championship portion of the season begins for Air Force on Friday, Oct. 26, when the squad travels to San Diego, Calif., for the 2018 Mountain West Championships. The Falcons will then head to Provo, Utah, for the NCAA Mountain Regional on Friday, Nov. 9, while the top teams and individuals from that meet will advance to the NCAA Cross Country Championships in Madison on Saturday, Nov. 17.
