Air Force With 3-1 Win Over North Florida

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. – A pair of second-half goals lifted Air Force men's soccer to a 3-1 win over North Florida (0-5) Friday evening at Cadet Soccer Stadium. The Falcons improved to 4-1 on the season.

After allowing a game-tying goal on a penalty kick in the 50^th minute, Tucker Bone responded with a goal just two minutes later to put Air Force back up. Danny Han put the game out of reach with a score in the 74^th.

Air Force also had three would-be scores nullified by off-sides in the game.

The Falcons got on the board in the 28^th minute on a score by Austin Dewing. Off a corner kick set, Dewing took passes from James D'Emidio and Tucker Bone to one-time it to the right post for his team-leading fourth goal of the season.

Air Force got called for a tripping foul in the box to set up the penalty kick in the 50^th minute. Mike Connell scored on the PK to tie the match up.
The match was tied for just 131 seconds as Bone took a pass from across the top of the box from D'Emidio, turned and curled a shot to the lower-left post for the go-ahead strike.

Air Force's third score came as James Sims took control of the ball at midfield and weaved his way past several UNF defenders and streaked into the box. Sims sent a cross to the left side and found Han, who hammered in a diving header from 10 yards out.

Andrea Seazzu had three a saves in goal for the Falcons. Air Force held a 15-11 advantage in shots and 8-3 advantage in corner kicks.

"I was really impressed with our composure tonight, especially not getting rattled by the PK." Air Force head coach Doug Hill said. "We did a good job of controlling the game on both sides of the ball. Our guys responded to our halftime talk to attack with power and patience. It's nice to coach an older group of players that know how each other plays. This group of seniors has a chance do something special this season."

Air Force sets its sights on #13 Colgate on Sunday. The Falcons and Raiders square off on Sunday, Sept. 9 at 1 pm at Cadet Soccer Stadium.
