
Air Force in fifth place heading into final day

The Falcons have shot an even-par 288 each of the first two days
U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – The Air Force golf team shot an even-par 288 on the second day of the 50th annual Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational, Saturday, Sept. 8, at the Eisenhower Blue Course. With a two-round total of 576 (even), the Falcons are in fifth place overall.
With an eight-under-par 280 today, Wyoming leads the 16-team field with a 567 (-9). Colorado is second (568, -8), followed by New Mexico State (571 , -5), Northern Colorado (575, -1) and then Air Force.
Senior Andy Germann shot a career-best 67 in round two and is tied for seventh overall with a two-day total of 141 (-3). Junior Josh Wu is tied for 15th with a 143 (-1). After 36 holes, Joseph Crisostomo is at 145 (+1), Turner Howe is at 147 (+3) and Tate Tatom is at 148 (+4). Air Force started the second round on No. 10 and closed out its front side with three straight birdies on No. 18 by Germann, Howe and Tatom.
Among the Air Force individuals, freshman Luke Trujillo (Colorado Springs, Colo.) is tied for 19th overall with an even-par 144. He shot a two-under 70 in round two.
After two rounds, junior Anson Kuznik is at 150, freshman Colter Baca is at 152 and freshman Jonathan Farmer is at 155.
New Mexico State's Mike McGilton leads all golfers with a 135 (-9). Three players are tied for second at 138 (-6), Colorado's Trevor Olkowski, New Mexico State's Tadhg Campbell and Abilene Christian's Alex Clouse.
The final round is Sunday, Sept. 9, with tee times beginning at 7:15 am MT.
