Men's Swimming Powers Past Conference Foe Seattle, 119-83

The Falcons won nine of 11 events contested
SEATTLE, Wash. – The Air Force Academy men's swimming team wrapped up the weekend sweep of Western Athletic Conference foe Seattle University with a 119-83 dual win Saturday afternoon, Jan 12, at the Redhawk Center. Air Force (6-5-1) won nine of the 11 events contested in the meet.
Three Falcons had two individual wins on the day, as freshman Adam Grimm, sophomore Peter Lochmaier, and junior Zach Nelson each had two event wins each.
Grimm took gold in both the 1650 free marathon, as well as the 500 freestyle. For Lochmaier, he placed first in both the 200 free, as well as the 200 butterfly. Finally, co-captain Zach Nelson took first in the 200 IM, as well as the 200 breaststroke.
Elsewhere, freshmen Matthew Lattin and Isaac Gwin had solid days, as the former took first in the 100 free with a 46.31, while the latter had a first place finish in the 200 back with a 1:53.70.
Lastly, Air Force's final event win came in the opening race, the 400 medley relay. The Blue and Silver placed first with a 3:27.70 combined time.
The Falcon swimmers will now have a little time off from competition, as they won't return to action until Saturday, Jan. 26 when they head back to California to take on WAC foe California Baptist in dual action. Start time against the Lancers is set for 12 p.m. MT.
