Men's Swimming & Diving Falls to Cal Baptist in Conference Dual

The Falcons won six events contested on the day
MALIBU, Calif. – The Air Force Academy men's swimming and diving team was upended in a dual meet with Western Athletic Conference foe Cal Baptist, 171-129, Saturday afternoon, Jan. 26, at Pepperdine's Runnels Memorial Pool. The Falcons were victorious in six of the events contested on the day.
The six event wins came from five individuals. Leading the dual off, freshman Jack Macceca on the diving board took gold in the 1-meter with a season-best score of 264.50. Two events later, fellow frosh Adam Grimm took first in the 1,000 meter freestyle with a time of 9:44.38.
Junior Cole McAnany took first place in the 100 backstroke, clocking in with a time of 50.05. In the 200 fly, sophomore Peter Lochmaier placed first with a 1:51.48.
Towards the end of the dual, freshman Aaron Pang took first in the 100 fly, just missing out on a personal and team best time with a 49.72. The final event win came in the 500 freestyle, as Lochmaier locked up his second win with a time of 4:39.39.
This concludes dual action for the Falcons, as they finish the slate with a 6-6-1 record, and a 2-3-1 mark in the WAC. Next on the docket will be the Falcon Diving Invite, Feb. 1-2, while the swimmers will compete in the Colorado Sprint Championships, Feb. 2.
