Falcons Close Out Friday Fights with Nine Bouts

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. – The Air Force boxing team returned to action on Jan. 18, hosting its final Friday Night Fights on the year. Senior Levi Rate was named the team's first Boxer of the Week for the 2019 calendar year after earning a 162-pound victory over junior William Ragland.

Junior Ife Onigbanjo earned a 150-pound victory over sophomore William Winstead IV, while freshman Francisco Garcia defeated classmate Ayaz Mustafa in a 163 pound matchup. Junior Cenada Clifton-Smith decisioned Xavier Cardinal at 174 pounds, while a pair of member of Cadet Squadron 09 picked up victories in back-to-back contests – senior Deon Dodd defeated freshman Fabian Manzo at 183 pounds and junior Jordan Garivay won a 207-pound bout over classmate Nick Pingel. Junior Micah Mackaly rounded out the night with a heavyweight win over senior Kehinde Osinloye.

On the women's side, Ellen Miota captured a 140-pound victory over Abigail Aldecoa and Madison Lloyd defeated Emily Rickman in a 144-pound bout.

Air Force returns to action on Jan. 25-26, when they travel to Seattle for the WAC Main Event.
