Wrestling Falls to No. 12 Wyoming in Dual Action

LARAMIE, Wyo. – The Air Force Academy wrestling team fell in Big 12 dual action to No. 12 University of Wyoming, 33-3, Friday evening, Jan. 18 at the UniWyo Sports Complex. The dual was delayed by over an hour due to snowy winter conditions in the area.

When the dual did get underway, the Cowboys won the first eight matches, including five of those from nationally ranked wrestlers. The dual began at 157 lbs.

Air Force broke the shutout at 141 lbs., as junior Garrett O'Shea battled his way to a 4-1 decision victory. The New Jersey native led 3-1 into the third with a takedown and escape, and his riding time led him to the 4-1 win. The Pokes finished off the evening with a decision win to cap off the 33-3 team score.

The Falcons will be back in action this Sunday, Jan. 20, as they take on the No. 15 seeded Northern Iowa Panthers. Action in Cedar Falls, Iowa is set for 1 p.m. MT.
