The swimmers will compete in the Rice Invite, and the divers in the Houston Invite
HOUSTON, Texas – The Air Force Academy women's swimming and diving team continues its 2019-20 regular season when it heads to Texas for the Rice Invitational, hosted by Rice University, Friday-Saturday, Oct. 11-12. The diving team will also be competing at the same time, but at the Houston Diving Invitational at UH's Campus Recreation & Wellness Center, as Rice does not compete in diving.
The action at Rice's Competition Pool will begin at 2:30 p.m. MT on Friday and resumes at 9:30 a.m. MT on Saturday. The two-day meet will have 18 events divided in half over the two days, and will pit the Blue and Silver against the host Owls, as well as fellow Texas schools Houston and Incarnate Word, as well as Georgia Tech.
Scoring will be invitational format, with a cumulative team score tallied up after the conclusion of the 18 events. A full schedule of events is listed below. There will be no live scoring for the Rice Invite, however live results can be found on Dive Meets for the Houston Invite.
The Falcons are coming off a 1-1 dual weekend at the Intermountain Shootout in Grand Junction, as the Falcons defeated host Colorado Mesa, while falling to BYU. Freshman Sefilina Maile won two events for AF in the 100 free and 100 fly.
