(Nov. 10, 2018) Air Force defeated Colorado State, 27-19, on Thanksgiving Day in Falcon Stadium. The Falcons opened the scoring with a three yard run to take a 7-0 lead. The Falcons extended the lead to 14-0 on a Donald Hammond III 16 yard touchdown pass to Marcus Bennett. Colorado State got on the board with a Collin Hill to Preston Williams touchdown connection to cut the lead to 14-6. Following a Jake Koehnke field goal, Hill and Williams connected again to make the 17-13 at the half. Koehnke added his second field goal to make it 20-13 with 13:49 left before Williams caught his third touchdown pass. A blocked extra point by Ben Harris kept Air Force in front, 20-19. The Falcons secured the win with a Kadin Remsberg touchdown to cap an 11-play, 75-yard drive that took 6:18 off the clock to make up the final margin. Colorado State's last chance ended with an interception by Kyle Floyd deep in Air Force territory. Colorado State finished with 437 total yards, including 373 passing. Williams led the way with 12 catches for 248 yards and three scores. Air Force finished with 474 total yards, including 393 rushing. Hammond completed 8-16 passes for 81 yards and a score. The defense was led by Kyle Johnson, who had eight tackles. Demonte Meeks added five stops, including 1.5 sacks.
THE LAST TIME AT COLORADO STATE
(Oct. 28, 2017) Air Force defeated Colorado State, 45-28, in Fort Collins to win the Ram-Falcon Trophy. The Falcons scored 21 points in the second quarter to take a 28-21 halftime lead. The scores came on touchdown runs by fullbacks Taven Birdow and Jacob Stafford and an interception return touchdown from Shaquille Vereen. Colorado State tied the game at 28-all with a touchdown drive to open the third quarter. Luke Strebel put the Falcons ahead for good with a 20 yard field goal late in the third quarter. Arion Worthman hit Ryan Reffitt with a 56 yard TD pass and added a TD run in the fourth quarter to help the Falcons put it away. Air Force had 477 total yards, including 413 rushing, and held the ball for a season-best 41:38. Worthman led the way with 117 yards rushing and a TD while Stafford added 104 yards and a score. Colorado State had 435 total yards, including 269 passing.
THE RAM-FALCON TROPHY
Air Force and Colorado State compete each year for the Ram-Falcon Trophy. The 2019 season marks the 40th year of the trophy competition with Air Force holding a 24-15 lead. The trophy's origin is tracked back to Shelly Godkin, a former ROTC commander at Colorado State. He watched the teams play in 1978 and sought to translate his impressions into a trophy symbolic of an annual game. The first Ram-Falcon trophy game was in 1980.

AIR FORCE LAST TIME OUT
Air Force defeated Army, 17-13, in Falcon Stadium to win its fourth straight game and snap a two-game losing streak to the Black Knights. Air Force had defensive stops to open the close the game. After holding Army on a four-and-goal on the one on its first drive, the Falcons took a 3-0 lead in the second quarter on a Jake Koehnke 20 yard field goal. Army answered with a touchdown run late in the second quarter by Jabari Laws, but missed the extra point to take a 6-3 halftime lead. Timothy Jackson put the Falcons in front with a one yard touchdown run to make it 10-6. Army scored on its next play on an 87 yard pass from Laws to make it 13-10. Joshua Stoner scored on a five yard run with 13:08 to play to make it 17-13. The Falcons then held Army on a fourth down play inside the 10 with 33 second left. Jackson led the Falcons with a career-best 155 yards rushing and a score. The Falcons had 344 total yards, including 328 rushing. Kyle Johnson led the defense with a season-high 11 tackles. Jordan Jackson added nine and a sack. The defense held Army to 343 total yards.
