Air Force ranked No. 4 in CRCA Poll (Nov. 4)
U.S. Air Force Academy, Colo. – Following the sixth-consecutive win against the service academies in the President's Trophy match on Saturday, Nov. 2, the No. 4 Air Force rifle team went up against the U.S. Coast Guard, No. 26 MIT and No. 28 John Jay College at the Tronsrue Marksmanship Center in West Point on Nov. 3.
On Sunday, the Falcons won the quad match by over 100 points against the Coast Guard (4676-4563). The Falcons' team score topped MIT's 4351 and John Jay's 4281, to give the Falcons an overall 6-0 weekend.
The top 10: Air Force had eight shooters place in the top-10 standings in the match. Sophomore Peter Fiori was the overall top scorer, with an aggregate score of 1182. He was also the top finisher in both the smallbore (587) and air rifle (595). The Falcons' next-highest scorer was senior Logan Ogden, with an aggregate score of 1176. His scores in both rifles were 582 (smallbore) and 593 (air rifle). Sophomore Devin Schwindt scored a career high 579 in smallbore with three perfect 10s in kneeling (one) and the prone positions (two), and had a career high 1161 aggregate. He also scored a 582 in the air rifle, and placed third on the top ranking. Freshman Camden Donahoe scored 1156 points in the match, with a smallbore score of 584, and 572 in air rifle.
Junior Nate Peterson finished the day with a score of 1156, with a 573 in smallbore and 583 in the air rifle. Only two Coast Guard shooters made the top 10, placing in sixth and eighth. Coming in as the seventh-ranked finisher, AFA's junior Sarah Sawicki scored 573 points in smallbore and finished with a 581 in air rifle for an aggregate of 1154. Sophomores Maliya Hillman and Lauren Sprock helped to round out the top-10 list with scores of 1147 and 1146, respectively. Hillman fired a 564 in smallbore and 583 in air rifle, while Sprock shot a 565 in smallbore and 581 in air rifle.
In smallbore, Air Force scored 2322 points and finished with 2354 points in air rifle (4676).

Individual Averages: With an 1183, Fiori is seated just five points away from TCU's top shooter, who has the top score in the NCAA to date. After all NCAA matches (Nov. 4), Fiori is just 3.083 average points from the nation's No. 1 shooter (1184.333).
CRCA Top 20 Rifle Teams: Nov. 4, 2019 – Air Force is ranked fourth in the College Rifle Coaches Association, TCU holds the No. 1 spot followed by West Virginia and Kentucky, respectively.
Upcoming Schedule: Kicking off the conference matches, Air Force will host Ohio State and Alaska at the Falcon Rifle Range on Nov. 23-24, respectively. The November matches will conclude the first half of the Falcons' collegiate season.
The Air Force rifle team is now 9-1 for the season, 1-0 vs. conference opponents.
