Wrestling Heads to Prestigious Southern Scuffle Tournament

The Falcons will face some of the top teams in the country in Tennessee

Chattanooga, Tenn.
THIS WEEK: The Air Force Academy wrestling team gets back into action following the holiday break as it sends a majority of its primary starters to Chattanooga, Tenn. for the Southern Scuffle presented by Compound Sportswear, Wednesday-Thursday, Jan. 1-2.
FOLLOWING THE ACTION: The tournament can be watched via a live stream on Flowrestling, while live results/brackets will be posted to the FloArena. Fans can also follow along on Twitter, @AF_Wrestle.
THREE FALCONS PRE-SEEDED: Heading into the tournament, three AF wrestlers are seeded in the top eight of their respective weight classes. At 125 lbs., sophomore Sidney Flores is the highest ranked Falcon, checking in at No. 3, while at 141 lbs. and heavyweight, junior Lenny Petersen and sophomore Kayne Hutchison are both seeded eighth.
LAST SEASON AT THE SCUFFLE: Last year at the Southern Scuffle, Air Force had three grapplers finish just one win shy of a top eight placement, as all three fell in the bloodround. Among them was Sidney Flores, who concluded his tournament with a 3-2 record.
NEXT UP: The Falcons will return to the mats for the 30th Annual Borah Duals, Saturday, Jan. 11, in Gunnison, Colo. The Falcons will take on numerous programs in dual action throughout the day.
