#44 Women’s Tennis With 7-0 Win Over Rockhurst

The 44th ranked Air Force women's tennis team rolled to a 7-0 win over Rockhurst Saturday in Kansas City, Mo. The Falcons improved to 15-0 on the season, extending its best start in program history.
The Falcons won the first two doubles matches to earn the point. TJ Fumagalli and Kristin Kerrigan won at No. 1 doubles over Sam Czarnecki/Paula Romero, 6-4. Nadeen Lieberman and Elizabeth Barnickel won at No. 2 over Anilu Barraza/Octavia Malin, 6-4.
Air Force swept every singles match in two sets. Fumagalli defeated Czarnecki at No. 1 singles, 6-4, 6-2. Barnickel blanked Anilu Barraza at No. 2, 6-0, 6-0. Kristin Kerrigan won at No. 3 over Emma Persson, 6-0, 6-4. Lieberman won at No. 4 over Malin 6-1, 6-0. Meredith Laskey won at No. 5 over Romero 6-1, 6-0. Abby Warner won at No. 6 singles over Mary Grace Harris 6-2, 6-4.
"It was nice to get another match at sea level to prepare for Kansas tomorrow," Air Force head coach Kim Gidley said. "We face the No. 8 ranked team in the nation in Kansas tomorrow with all three of their doubles teams being ranked as well as several singles players. It is definitely going to be a fun environment and this team should have some confidence going into tomorrow with a 15-0 record."
Air Force returns to action tomorrow, having its biggest challenge yet this season, as it takes on #8 Kansas.
