Chieves, one of four Falcons to compete in the national finals, paced the men to a runner-up finish in the team standings.
Competing in the afternoon session at the Silver Legacy Grand Exposition Hall, Chieves earned his first NCBA belt after defeating Navy's Tanner Strawbridge by unanimous decision in the 132-pound championship.
Three of Chieves' classmates also accounted for NCBA silver medals during today's championship round.
