Rifle team members received shout out from POTUS

Newly-commissioned second lieutenants Spencer Cap and Anna Weilbacher, former Air Force rifle team members, received a shout out from President of the United States Donald Trump during the Air Force Academy graduation ceremony last week. The second lieutenants received appointments to Undergraduate Pilot Training.
Cap will attend UPT at Laughlin AFB in Texas. Weilbacher will attend UPT at Vance AFB in Oklahoma.
The president recognized the athletes for their accomplishments during the 2019 NCAA Rifle Championships. Cap and Weilbacher earned All-American honors following the NCAA Championships. The team won the Academy's first-ever Division I national team title for Air Rifle, and was the third-place finisher overall.
Air Force athletics had 170 cadet-athletes from 27 sports, plus cheer and boxing, commissioned as second lieutenants at graduation.
