Air Force women’s gymnastics posted a 192.450 team score, claiming five first-place finishes
SEATTLE, Wash. - Air Force outscored Seattle Pacific, 192.450-190.300, Friday evening in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation dual meet, hosted in Brougham Pavilion. The Falcons won first-place in all five events with nine top-three finishes on the night, highlighted by two first-place finishes apiece from Anna Salamone and Tyler Davis.
UNEVEN BARS
The Falcons began the night on the bars where co-team captain and Academy record holder in the event, Anna Salamone, led the Falcons with a 9.800 and a first-place finish. Sophomore Daija Stevenson had the next highest score for Air Force, finishing third with a 9.675, while Tyler Davis and Jessica Kirkpatrick finished sixth and seventh with 9.575 and 9.525, respectively. Other Falcon competitors in the event were Amber Boll (10th, 9.325) and Pixie Brock (11th, 8.875). Air Force finished with a 47.900 team score in the event.
VAULT
Air Force moved to the vault in the next even where the squad posted a 43.850 team score led by Salamone who scored another 9.800 to win her second first-place finish of the night, setting a season-high mark. Senior teammate and co-captain Heidi Sand followed up in close-second, scoring a 9.750 to tie for second-place. Air Force's Daija Stevenson and Brooke Bruder finished fourth and fifth with a 9.700 and 9.600, respectively. Other Falcon competitors were Tyler Davis (8th, 9.500), and Grace Bardes (11th, 9.275).
FLOOR EXERCISE
Air Force floor exercise record holder Tyler Davis took it upon herself to shine in the third event of the night, scoring a 9.850 to finish first. Salamone was firing on all cylinders right behind Davis, scoring a second-place score of 9.825 for the second time in as many tries on the floor exercise this season. Brooke Bruder and Natalie Meyer had solid performances, each posting a personal season-high 9.700 to finish in a three-way tie for third. Cameo Stapleton (T-8th, 9.550) and Pixie Brock (12th, 9.125) rounded out Air Force's scores. The Falcons posted a 48.625 team score in the event.
BALANCE BEAM
The Falcons combined for a 47.575 in their final event of the night, led by Daija Stevenson's 9.800 and first-place finish. Davis finished third with a season-high 9.725 followed up by Amber Boll who scored a season-high 9.625 for a fifth-place finish. Freshman Briona Carswell, who holds the top-score on the beam so far this season, finished seventh with a 9.275. Teammates Heidi Sand and Pixie Brock finished eighth and tied-for-ninth, respectively.
ALL AROUND
Davis, the Falcons' most seasoned all-arounder checked in at first with a 38.650, setting the high-mark for the season. Her counterpart, Darian Burns, finished with a 38.525

Air Force opens the home slate in a dual against Utah State, Saturday (Jan. 25), in Cadet West Gym, USAF Academy. The meet is slated to start at 6 p.m. MT.
