
2020 Air Force football schedule announced

Air Force's 2020 football schedule was announced today by the Mountain West Conference as part of the conference's full schedule release.
The Falcons host six home games, including visits by defending conference champion Boise State, service academy rival Navy, MW West Division champion Hawaii and in-state rival Colorado State.
Air Force opens the season Saturday, Sept. 5, by hosting Duquesne on Parents' Weekend. The Falcons open conference play the following week with Boise State, Sept. 12. The first road game of the season is at Big Ten member Purdue on Saturday, Sept. 19. The first conference road game follows at Fresno State, Sept. 26.
The Falcons open October with Navy in Falcon Stadium Oct. 3, then travel to San Jose State Oct. 10. Hawaii comes to Falcon Stadium, Oct. 17, and the team is at Wyoming, Oct. 24, before an open week on Oct. 31. Air Force opens November at service academy rival Army Saturday, Nov. 7. A pair of home games follows vs. Colorado State (Nov. 14) and vs. New Mexico (Nov. 21). The Falcons close the regular season at Utah State, Nov. 28. The conference championship game is Saturday, Dec. 5, at a home site.
Mountain West national television partners CBS Sports and FOX Sports will now initiate a selection procedure which will also include the shifting of particular games to Thursdays and Fridays. That will be followed by the identification of national network outlets and kick times.
Air Force capped a historic season with a 31-21 win over Washington State in the Cheez-It Bowl, Dec. 27, in Phoenix, Ariz. The win gave Air Force an 11-2 overall record. Air Force's 11 wins are the third most in program history, trailing the 12 wins in 1985 and 1998. Air Force closed with an eight-game winning streak, which is second longest in the nation, trailing only national champion LSU's 16-game streak. Air Force was ranked 22nd in the final Associated Press poll and 23rd in the USA Today Coaches poll.
