Mack Galvin | Men's Tennis | Arlington Heights, Ill.
Cadet Squadron 12 (The Dirty Dozen)
Career Field Upon Graduation: Undergraduate Pilot Training
"In 2017, his freshman year, Mack instantly became a star for the team as he won his first 10 singles matches and finished the year with the most combined singles and doubles wins and was named team MVP," head coach Dan Oosterhous said.
"During his sophomore and junior years, Mack saw his playing time reduced as he battled through a slump that would have sent many athletes into an early retirement. Mack never quit and always gave his best for the team whether he was in the starting lineup or not.
Mack returned for his senior year as team captain and with the added responsibility for the development and training of over 1,000 cadets as the Cadet Group 2 Commander. He handled both roles brilliantly, pulling off his most successful Fall season with a run to the final 16 in the ITA regional tournament and secured a win over Army's #1 singles player in the last event of the Fall season. In his final Spring season, Mack led a young and inexperienced team through one of the most successful rebuilding efforts in program history, culminating with a 4-2 win over our rival, Army West Point. In a season shortened by the global pandemic, Mack led the team to an outstanding 10-3 season record and he once again finished with most combined singles and doubles wins.
Mack is a history major and will be fulfilling his dream to become a pilot as he will attend pilot training following graduation."
