
Air Force Fencing All-American Alumni Spotlight: Daniel Trapani

Air Force fencing is highlighting its All-Americans that have come through the program. Our next All-American is 2011 Academy graduate Daniel Trapani. Trapani was a four-time NCAA Participant in men's epee from 2008-11. He is a two-time All-American, earning All-America honors in 2009 and 2011.
Year of Graduation: 2011
Weapon: Epee
Best result at a Championship: 6th in Men's Epee at NCAAs in 2009 and 8th in 2011.
In the Air Force:
- UH-1N "Huey" Pilot at Yokota AB Japan
- Malmstrom AFB Montana
- F. E. Warren AFB Wyoming
Current:

Favorite Hobby:

While at USAFA, what was your favorite thing/memory with the fencing team:
The team trips to NCAA tournaments were always my most favorite things. Whether at Duke, Notre Dame, in California or Boston, it was so much fun to all be together. Team events have always been my favorite and these tournaments were definitely a highlight.
After graduation, what do you miss most about the fencing team:
Definitely the camaraderie. The friendships I made on the team were second to none and something I have yet to replicate since leaving the Academy.
Quote/Advice for the fencing team:
Don't over analyze in life or on the fencing strip. Use your brain but trust your training and instincts.
