Air Force wins NCAA rushing title with 305.7 average

Title is second in program history
Air Force has won the NCAA rushing title this season with a 305.7 per-game average. The Falcons rushed for 1,834 yards, averaged 5.9 yards per carry and had 16 rushing touchdowns. The team topped the 300-yard mark four times, including a season-best 415 yards vs. Boise State.
The title is the second in program history and first since 2002 when Air Force averaged 307.8 yards. The Falcons were the only program in the nation to average 300-plus yards per game. Buffalo finished second at 287.4, followed by Kent State at 283.0. Air Force has ranked among the nation's top 10 six straight years and 32 of the last 33 overall. The Falcons won the Mountain West title for the fourth consecutive year and fifth time in the last six years. Air Force has ranked first or second in conference play every year since 1982.
Air Force is 68-19 when having a 100-yard rusher under head coach Troy Calhoun, including a 3-1 mark this season. Sophomore fullback Brad Roberts led the team in rushing with 461 yards, yards per carry at 7.2 and rushing touchdowns with five. He did not lose any yards all season.
