Rifle team falls to Nebraska

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, COLO. – Jan. 16 – The Air Force rifle team is in Lincoln, Neb., for two days of shooting matches. On Saturday, the Falcons fell to the Huskers 4649-4672. The Falcons' top shooter in the match was junior Peter Fiori, who led by one point, beating out the Husker's Emily Cheramie 1174-1173.
The two teams will compete on Sunday at the Husker's rifle range.
In team scoring, Nebraska led in both rifles, scoring a 2308 in smallbore and 2364 in air rifle. Air Force finished the day with a 2303 in smallbore and 2346 in the air rifle.
Fiori was the individual leader in the match with the top score in the smallbore match, finishing with a 583. He finished with a 591 in the air rifle for the total aggregate of 1174.
Other individuals finishing in the top 10 were Falcons: freshmen Peninah D'Souza with scores of 574 in smallbore and 587 in air rifle and an aggregate 1161. Morgan Kreb followed with a 576 smallbore and 581 air rifle for an 1157 aggregate. Junior Ryan Habeck shot a 571 for smallbore and 580 for air rifle, finishing with an 1151. Sophomore Jordan Williams rounded out the Falcons' overall scoring with a 563 in smallbore and 587 in air rifle. He finished with an 1150 aggregate.
