AF vs TCU-UTEP Results, Jan. 31
U.S. Air Force Academy, Colo. – Air Force will be competing in the Patriot Rifle Conference Championships in Columbus, Ohio, on Feb. 6-7. Ohio State is the conference host. Following the PRCs, the Falcons will shoot head-to-head matches with Akron and OSU on Feb. 8.
Last weekend, the Falcons hosted TCU and UTEP at the Falcon Rifle Range. Finals: TCU 4709, AF 4685, UTEP 4548. The Falcons' Morgan Kreb was the team's top shooter in the match. Juniors Peter Fiori and Ryan Habeck, and freshman Peninah D'Souza all finished in the top-10 individually.
Team Individual Scores: Individually, Kreb has been the program's leading scorer through the season. On Jan. 31, Kreb matched her season best and finished the match with the team's top individual score of 1179. Her smallbore and air rifle scores were also the team's highest scores. In the match, she set a personal best in the smallbore with a 585, and had a 594 in the air rifle.
Fiori's scores were the fifth-highest in the match, he scored a 579 in the smallbore and had a 593 in air rifle. He finished with an aggregate 1172. Habeck and D'Souza finished ninth and 10th, with final scores of 1162 and 1161, respectively. In the smallbore, Habeck had a 578, while D'Souza scored a 570. In air rifle Habeck had a 584 and D'Souza tied her PB with a 591.
Season Record: Air Force is now 5-5 for the season, and 1-3 for conference matches.
Upcoming Schedule: Air Force and TCU will go head-to-head on Feb. 18 in Fort Worth, Texas, and again on Feb 20 for the NCAA Qualifier. The NCAA Rifle Championships are scheduled for March 12-13 in Columbus, Ohio.
